My Mini adventures so far...

Hi all, first, great forum, it's been a lot of help. I have owned my 03 MCS for about 8 weeks. I searched for a while, I picked up an Indy blue, with black and blue leather, HK, sport and premium packs and heated seats...I wanted red or blue and lots of options and it took a while to find one. It ended up having a black roof and mirrors and black stripe.

I got it for a fair price and here is how I have blown the budget since: Stripes removed and roof and mirrors painted Alpine White. Dumped the 17s for a set of Webbys off Craigslist-I live in San Francisco so ride quality is critical, since street maintenance isn't in this town. Put on a set of Toyo T1r in 195/55 16. Installed the dealer chrome kit, arm rest with console, and a leather p brake boot in blue. The shifter boot I ordered was no good-color match was none existent so I sent it back. I;ll have to try that again. I would love to get a matching chrome ring for the tach...don't know where or how though.

Only issue I have had is a dead drivers window motor, it was replaced under warantee. Oh, and my wife IMMEDIATELY lost the spare key I bought...

I also installed an Autometer boost guage per the instructions I found here-I have to say it's dangerous---it's too fun to look at while driving.

The current (last weekend) round of mods included a Dinan Airbox, throttle body and exhaust. Today I had the stage 3 software installed. The car is faster. The rest of the boost kit, pulley and fuel system parts are in the garage, waiting for the next free weekend. I wanted the system approach and found a good guy to work with at Dinan, Scott Leander. They don't seem to mind that I do my own install and happily load the software when I am done.

I have more stuff in mind for the future-adding white stripes, Koni FSDs and an H sport rear bar, and a few other odds and ends, so far I'm having lots of fun : ) Thanks to all for the help here : ) PB
