Getting Closer
We are almost there. Our local Mini dealer has been kind enough to let us drive a convertible three times now. Their only request was to have it back before closing time. Still working out details on the final package. We have heard that the 2007 convertibles may come out in Sept. or Oct. but not sure if we can wait that long to order. Looking at Chili Red convertible,CVT, cold package, chrome dash. Is it worth the extra$ to go with the run flat tires or should we wait and but them locally?
Going to name it after my lovely wife "Mini Mae"

The 07's will look just like the 06's so to wait or not to wait is up to you. The new bodystyle cabrios won't be out til '08.
You didn't say if you were looking at an S model or a non-S. It's kinda hard to tell you anythign about packages until we know which model you are considering. If it is an S the Mini will come with runflats because there is no spare tire (you don't get a choice). I don't know much about the non-S cabrios so I can't help you there.

It will be a non-S for now. Maybe my next will be a S. I didn't think that any of the Mini' came with spares. I have heard that the 07's could be 4-5% more $ so I may just get a 06 ordered.

Non-S do come with spares. Only the S don't because the battery is in the boot. That's why the run flats are standard on the S. The cabrio's aren't changing next year so you might as well order it now and start enjoying it!
