A few Qs for a new Mini convert....

As a longtime BMW owner (2002s included), I am currently a very happy Mini Cooper S owner. The 2004 pepper white model I stole from a dealer had only 5600 miles on it, but only 1 key, a missing antenna, and a very ignorant original owner. The Chevy salesman I bought this from knew little about my car, and the original owner even less. He just wanted it off his lot. Idiot.
I am assuming (like BMW) there is a website I can go to punch un my VIN # and find out which options my car possesses & any "recall" upgrades?? Anyone?
Any maintainance schedule I can download or find online (previous owner is "looking" for the book)?
Thanks in advance, I plan on driving the snot out of this thing before the warranty is up - but I want to be current on my upkeep/recall upgrades....

yes, check out the owner's lounge at miniusa.com. not only will you find a maintenance schedule, you should be able to find a pdf of the owners manual and some other MINI goodies. welcome to NAM!

NO. The OL will NOT provide you with the Service Record. The owner has the option of filling that out (or not). Do not depend upon that. I, for example, am not going to fill in a bunch of garbage that MINI already has in its computers.

Any MINI dealer can pull up the cars service record. You cannot do it online.

Tried the OL straight away - NFG.

Exactly the info I was seeking. Thanks - I can keep my own records just fine, it's the knucklehead previous original owner I don't trust......
