which production year is good for a used MCS?

which production year is good for a used MCS?

i definetely can only afford a used MCS. Whats a good year? and should I wait until MINI2 comes out and hope for slight drop in price? TIA

sigh* I cant concentrate at work. All I can think of is MCS and browsed alot of online car for-sale.

A lot has been written on this subject. Search the threads for the details as all info exists and is too extensive to repeat.

Long story short: Most folks agree that 2004 onward are the preferred years for the MC/MCS. That isn't to say that 2002-3 MC/MCS are trouble; many are just fine. However make sure they have had all TSBs (hatch, cooling fan circuit, coolant tank, etc.) performed on them by accessing the computerized service records at the MINI dealer.

You can listen to the pod casts on whiteroofradio.com. That might help also. I concur with Koopah, as long as the MINI has a good history its a good MINI. And stay away from problem MINI's. Good luck
