Back in the fold!
Back in the fold!
My MINI saga started in late 2002, when I took delivery of a brand new 2003 LY/Blk MC, which I had purchased as a "gift" for myself upon completion of grad school. Sadly, that was ill-timed, and I had to sell it a scant 6 months and 3k miles later
I still think that yellow/black is the best color combo...
Being in Michigan, my replacement choices were poor. So, I made due for a while with a second-hand Ford Focus. It's one redeeming quality? It was yellow!
At long (well, it seemed long, anyway) last I escaped MI! Back in CA, I decided that a convertible was the way to go, but this was before the MINI cabrio was out, so I took up with a Toyota MR2 Spyder. Other than not being yellow, this really was a great car to own! Never a problem, and oh so much fun. In the end, however, the miniscule 1.8 cubic feet of storage space dictated that it was time to move to something "larger."
If you've made it this far, congrats! This is where we get to the MINI! After much contemplation I came to the conclusion that the only thing that could come close to the driving fun of the MR2, but still be small, relatively affordable, and with extra storage, was the MCS. Naturally, I wanted it in yellow again, but those were quite hard to come across with the other options I wanted (esp cloth seats (does no one else like cloth?)). In the end, I have compromised a bit, and purchased a 2004 MCS in indi blue with a white top, which has all the interior options I wanted. It's only been a few days, but I am very, very pleased with my choices, and hopefully will manage to hang on to this one for a while!
