Wifey ordered a Lexus IS350, refuses to drive my '02 Tacoma, or Fox Body mustang, so... :impatient we bought an '06 S yesterday for her to drive to school till May, (non-trad student at CPCC in Interior Design), then I get it for autocrossing, motoring and fun!
BTW, I'm not usually smiley happy, I just liked these lil' guys and it is my first post...
Keep the shiny side up!

Welcome to my world! LOL J/K She's the best, smart too, here's an example:
I have a Fox body Mustang 'vert with a built engine, and have been talking about a KLR650 motorcycle to feed my midlife crisis.
This was her way of squelching both hungers, (fun and speed), see, she drives it till May at graduation, (she doesn't really want to drive the Lex to CPCC), then I get this car, sell the 'stang and DON'T buy a bike b/c I have a go kart instead..
I think I came out okay on the deal just with 40 miles under my belt and keeping it under 4K rpms...she can have it during break in, it's driving me nutz!

Dave, welcome to NAM, it's great to see someone with a modding background from another arena come here to roost. As you know from experience, there's no limit to how much $$ you can burn. You'll also find there is a neat community of peeps for whatever you're up for - track days, autocrossing, etc. AND there is a good repository of experience and knowledge within those groups regarding mods and parts, etc. It's a cool place, enjoy!
P.S. I've discovered that some of the tricks used on Lightnings apply to the MINI s/c as well!

Welcome Phil I'm a new owner as well and bought the Mini for my wife to go back and forth to school (ASU west). But getting rid of the Mustang is a how dare you.
I'm hoping some of the tricks I learned with the Cobra will help with the Mini as well. Now where in the world did I put that pulley puller?

Thanks, all. This car and you guys are a blast! Reminds me of my SAAB Viggen and club experience when I bought that, and I mean that in a good way, in every way. Looking forward to all of it, and getting out of this painstaking break in period!
