Ohio Bound Minis and Port Of Entry

I'm hoping I'm on the K-Line ship EMDEN since the OL lists me as "En Route" and I can't track my VIN at WW and the ship's schedule fits when I could have gotten a seat.

The EMDEN is currently scheduled to be in Baltimore on June 26th and Charleston on June 28th as per the schedule at K-Line.

My MA is of no help whatsoever so does anyone know which port of entry Ohio bound Minis are unloaded? Do K-Line ships unload some Minis in Baltimore and then truck back to the northern VDC or do they just unload everything in Charleston at the southern VDC?

Thanks. Are you on a WW ship or a K-Line ship?

schreyerplace,

Mine was delivered in December & things could be different now. I'm guessing you bought through MAG aka Midwestern MINI. My MCS was unloaded at Charleston on a Saturday & I took delivery on Thursday.

Call the manager & have him find out what's up with your car. Although I knew before they did when mine was coming in.

Here are a couple of pointers for you. DON"T let them put a buffer on your paint!!! When I picked my car up is was a grey winter Columbus day. The car shined like a little blue jewel. The car lived in the garage for a few months until the weather got nicer. First sunny day what did I see? Swirl marks all over my car. When I took the car back in & complained I was told buffers never touch our cars. Then he said in the same breath we can buff those out for you. I'm having a local detailer & MINI owner fix those for me.

Call & tell them NOT to buff out your car.

Also make sure they give you floor mats, a hat & key ring. It's the least they can do.

Hang in there your new MINI will be in your hands soon. Make sure & stop by at the next MINI morning breakfast.

What dealer are you going through? I work at Cinci MINI and here's an inside tip:

Don't get your car washed! That's my job, but seriously, request on pickup that your MINI not get washed. Other people have to drive your brand new MINI, and some don't know how to properly drive a stick (if you got a manual) and I'm sure you don't want your clutch burned up.

And if it's an auto, I still wouldn't get it washed. Other's drive the car, mash the gas, etc.

Warning to all, and good luck on the pickup! I bet your happy!

Crashton,

Great info and yes I ordered from MAG. I seem to know much more about the shipping process than my MA unfortunately (and I feel like I know nothing).

I'll definitely call about the buffing issue.

Thanks again.

Polizei,

More good info. Having a working clutch in my new S is always a good thing

No buff... check
No wash... check
