Help With New Purchase

need help making decision. dealer has an S with black ext black int with premium, sport, upgrade stereo, anth headliner, rear fog, and piano int trim. its just what i was going to order except for the piano trim, and id like the chrono gauges.

does anyone have the piano dash?

any wear issues for the dash?

are the chrno gauges worth waiting for?

this will be a second car.

thanks for your help!

I have seen the piano dash at the dealership. Looks durable enough and should be fine. Normally I would say that the various dash finishes are durable except for the silver finish on the door pulls and downtubes on the dash, I have worn those items with little effort.

Anthracite and other painted clear coated finishes are much more durable.

Chrono gauges are fine and more or less your choice. You don't have to have them but they do mean that you'd have a double gauge for speedo and tach on your steering wheel instead of just one (tach). That might be good for you or not if you like the look- speedo would be smaller than on the center dash but right in front of you as you drive.

It boils down to getting a MINI in stock with some compromises or ordering and waiting for it to arrive.

Wait for what you really want

I just got my mini a week ago, and now I wish I had ordered it myself. Just like you I went to BMW/Mini and wanted one sooner than later. So I took the one they had, and wished I went with the Checkmate pkg, rather than the sport pkg. Anyways, get the chrono pkg, I have it and it's much easier to see, plus you get the middle chrono with other useful guages, I thought the huge speedo was ridiculous anyway
