On the Dragon in an Explorer

OK, this is weird. My fiance and I picked up our '06 Mini S on Tuesday in Mass., and a week later I had to pick up my daughter at Clemson in SC. Obviously the Mini wouldn't due so I took my company Explorer.
Well, after visiting friends in Knoxville, I took the "shortcut" at 10 PM over the Smokeys on RT 129.
The drive literally made me sick with all the 180 degree turns and driving at a top speed of about 15mph. All of a sudden there are Mini's everywhere trying to get around me. I'm sure some of them swore what the heck an Explorer was doing on this road at 10PM on a Thurs nite and holding them up.
I stopped and told a small crowd I was in fact a new Mini owner but was stuck with the Explorer. Other than a promise of "initiation" I think they thought I was nuts. They were right. It took me 1 1/2 hrs to cover 30 miles over the mountain.
It was like a Salvidor Dali nightmare.

Next time I take the Mini and tell my daughter to ship her stuff back home!

Welcome to NAM, Griff! You must have been the fellow who gave us a thumbs-up on the Dragon! First time I've ever gotten one from an SUV! Love your story!
