My First Mini

What a neat car! I do have a problem with the dealer and getting a new key. The closest dealer is two hours away. He won't let me order a key unless I am there in person with the car. He wants $160.00 for the key and when it comes in, I have to take the car back to get it programed. He said it could take up to two hours to program. Easily looking at $200.00 for a key.

Welcome to NAM!

MINI keys are coded to the car (or actually the car is coded to the key). Therefore, the car MUST be there to code the key. Key costs are easily $100+ so its not so outrageous as you may think. Just be glad its not a Porsche
