Finger on the trigger!

Tonight I set up an order with Patrick Mini in Chicago for an '06 MCS. Here's the spec:

http://www.miniusa.com/link/buildyou...4S4B5U1R04IEVY

So now I'm going to check with Classic Mini and see if I can get a better deal from them.

It's all ready to go... just have to FIRE!

(and you can all sound a sigh of relief at the end of my incessant silly questions )

Basically he let me "sleep on it" because the order will go straight in. So tomorrow if I go with it, it should be ordered for production on Monday. With a 6 week turn around.

so close! :impatient

quick question... sweet setup no doubt but....

why didn't you get the premium package? I admit the auto a/c doesn't do much for me but I like the gauge and the outside temp as well as the on board computer.

You checked off the MF wheel and sunroof so for only $300 more you get the little added stuff...

I'm just curious is all! I am jealous of the LSD... got my 05 as a 04 Nov. build so it wasn't available. Thats the only thing I would change in mine.

enjoy!!!!!

I know I know

I went through EVERY possible combination.. hours and hours and hours spent on miniusa!! :impatient

I shaved everything that wasn't a "must have" for me. I'm already $1000 over my "budget" limit.

My goal tomorrow is to maybe work a deal somewhere, or ask if he can just "throw in" the premium package for me. (doubtful i get so lucky)

Anyway, if I want to know the outside temp I'll open the sunroof

And I generally don't like auto a/c anyway - I prefer to fiddle with it

if you have the manual AC the you have outside temp.
The LSD is a must have!! Don't regret or think to change anything this is an awsome car no matter how its configured. Be sure to post when you pick it up in Chi-town if I'm up there I'd love to show you some of the local twisties

When they install A/C you get two displays on your tach if you don't have the On Board Computer outside temp and current speed. it sounded like the way customAV was describing things that if there was no auto A/C then there was no outside temp display

This "last second" "hair trigger" buying mode I'm in right now (dropping 26k + tax) is starting to sink in and freak me out a bit... even giving me delusions of buying a (cheaper after negotiation) GTI MKV or something of the sort

But then I get my senses back and remember what it was like to drive the new GTI and what it was like to drive the MCS. *especially* driving a slightly modded MCS... goodness..

PLUS.. I can't think of a cooler car under 40k

I'm right there with Chuck in indie... I ALWAYS seem to feel some buyers remorse with a big purchase, EXCEPT the Mini ! Not a single twitch !

yup, last night was a toss-and-turn night of sleep.

At one point I dreamt that I had my girlfriend in the passenger seat, and my parents in the back seat () and I was smashed into the driver seat trying to gear shift my way up REDICULOUSLY steep hills (we're talking 10x steeper than SanFrancisco)!! The MINI was trying so hard!!

I keep thinking about all the cars I've driven... VW GTI MKIV, MKV DSG, MKV manual, Mazda 3, Audi TT, Audi TT Quattro, the new Eclipse, new Civic (just looked at it - no need to drive), MCS, MCS JCW, MCS+misc aftermarket equipment, heck even a Geo Metro 3-banger!

.. the Audi and the VW MKV come the closest, and were ultimately "faster" than the MCS's, (and the MKV would be a lot CHEAPER!), but the MINI is just SO MUCH DAMN FUN!

Anyway... the voice of reason is also telling me "save your money and buy an '07...." ARG! :impatient

Aside from the over-priced JCW, the most fun I had was driving the modded MCS. More whine and more fun. (I'd like some cheese with my whine please...! )

let 'er rip! just go for it. I like that you didn't add the anthracite headliner. I definately think the standard grey headliner will go better with your 2-tone interior! it also makes it a bit more 'cheery' inside I've found.

I completely agree. I specifically did not want the anthracite headliner because I liked the more "open" cheerier light grey headliner. Plus I saved $200 that way

o-ron,

Don't forget to add the rear fog light otherwise you will have a missing switch in the toggle switches. And in Chicago you really should have the heated seats. I will never own another car without them.

I agree with you on this. I chose for the same reason.
