Heard back from dealer.

Says it receives calls from west coast dealers almost weekly wanting to buy its new cars for resell on the west coast.

Oh, dealer also claims used MINI market still very strong and used MINIs going for almost new prices.

Therefore, the dealer claims it will not discount under MSRP. Why does this response not surprise me...

Oh, for those just tuning in, put together a MCS '06 just the way I want it and submitted it to a distant dealer with my offer considerably under MSRP.

Are there dealers out there who are discounting considerably under MSRP?

 

I'm trying to find one, though I'm still in negotiations with the only one I've contacted so far.

I submitted an offer to buy (order) an '06 with my price quite a bit under MSRP, though my offer did include dest/handling and a document fee.

Salesperson didn't say H*!! NO but came back with a price a bit under MSRP along with some (car) floor covering tossed in.

I haven't replied yet with my counter offer -- Letting dealership wait as long as it made me wait until it got back to me...
