Hey Everyone,
Another new member here, this time from MN. Here's out brief story:
We just moved back to MN about 1.5 years ago (new job, significant pay raise), and before we moved back here we bought an 04 MB C240 (4-matic) and an 04 MB C230 Kompressor. My wife primarily drove the C230, and she really fell in love with the six speed sporty little car. However then we moved out into the country a few miles outside of town, with a long steep driveway and icy roads to work in the winter. So we just recently traded in her C230 for a big ol G500. That truck is great! It's now my daily driver (stay at home Dad), and she drives the C240. But she is really bummed out to not have a sporty fun car anymore so guess what? Yep, she really likes the looks of the Mini, possibly the convertible, and we'll be test driving a few in a couple weeks and maybe placing an order. It will be a third vehicle, and will most likely spend most of the winter indoors.
So here I am, doing some research and trying to get involved. So far, since we haven't actually driven one, we're just going off of looks and word of mouth. Seems like almost all we've heard are good things, so as long as she enjoys the ride then we'll pull the trigger.
At this point, it's all about decisions. Whether or not we go with the convertible, we'll at least get the S model, and maybe even go with the JCW upgrade. What I'm looking for now is what regrets people have. Things they either wish they had gotten or think they paid extra for, and don't use.
Thanks!
Andy

Welcome, Andy, I'm down in Roch. I've got about 3500 mi on my 2006 MCS. 6 sp, SB/S, bonnet stripe, Xenons, MFSW, LSD, DSC, cloth seats, anthracite headliner, OBC, auto-climate, cold weather package, Euro parcel shelf.
Things I don't like: they get dirty in winter, but what are you gonna do? The trim under the steering wheel fell in my lap 3 miles from the dealer, and continued to do so until replaced with the Euro parcel shelf. I think that's a must. The auto-climate control is not a must-have.
Things I like: pretty much everything else! The Xenons are a must for me. My wife loves the heated seats. The parcel shelf is a must just to keep that trim panel from falling in your lap.
The MFSW, LSD, DSC, and OBC are 'nice to haves', I'd order them again. I don't think the LSD and DSC are absolutely required in Minnesota, the DSC light rarely goes on even in the most foul weather.
