Just wanted to say hello to all of you! Good to be a part of such a great bunch of enthusiasts. I have always wanted to own a Mini and finally after test driving on (a spirited one of course) I was sold. I traded in my 2005 6.0 GTO for a pre-owned 2004 MCS with the JCW kit. What a little rocket! I have owned, autocross and road race Porsches since I was 16 and to be completely honest, I feel I'm quicker in my MCS. This car makes you feel invinsible. I can now drive my local canyon roads faster in my MCS than I ever have in any of my Porsches . My MCS is showroom stock except for the lightweight 17" Racing Hart wheels. I have yet to take it to the track but I am confident that she will yet again pleasantly suprise me. I have a lot of future mods in store for my MCS. Focusing first and foremost on brakes and suspension. I can't wait! I'll be posting questions soon asking all of you for god advise on optimum set ups for my MCS. Happy Motoring!

By the way.... I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. Any upcoming meets I should know about? Cheers!

Welcome to NAM, sounds like you picked up a nuce used MINI . As for events in your area check out the regional forums. Norcal MINIS, and REME (Redwood Empire Mini Enthu.....). As for a regional event you should come check out AMVIV III (a mini vacation in vegas) happening mid March. Around 200 MINIs last year, should be even more this year. It's always alot of fun.

Hi, from the Florida Keys! I have to drive 150 miles before I get to the open road (turnpike.) So, for 3-4 hours I get stuck behind campers, trailers and tourists taking pictures of pelicans....why don't they just pull over instead of driving slower? BUT when we finally do get to the turnpike, Ducky flies...and the feeling is one of sheer freedom. Feel the love! Mick
