New 06 Cooper S Owner

All,

A quick introduction, last friday my wife and I bought a 2006 Cooper S, Hyper Blue with Black roof, Premium and Sport Package, black stripes. Paid MSRP + Tax; dealer also wanted a prep and admin fee which I had to threaten to walk out to make them relent. The salesman actually apologized later, and otherwise I was very happy with the service. I feel we got a reasonable deal.

It's a awesome car, we also have a 1999 M3 and a Subaru WRX Wagon (my wife's car) and have done extensive autocrossing, and although I have not gotten through the breakin period yet I can see this puppy really handles... the tight steering is great. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...s/thumb-up.gif

I am currently researching how add a cheap bluetooth option, using factory buttons on steering wheel. However, I don't want to install myself so I hopefully will be able to find a cheaper way than the dealer. If anyone in Atlanta area has a suggested installer please share!

Cheers

Joe

Enjoy. I got my 2006 MCS right before Thanksgiving. I didn't fight over the $299 Dealer fee since it was an order car, but I should have made them take the mats back, and may still do so. They are junk and keep getting up under my pedals when I am using them. $94 for nothing. But it is FUN for a car!

For Bluetooth stuff

look on Mini2.com. Mikethemini is the guy to look for. He's selling electrical stuff, or works for a company that does.

Also, Motoringfile.com has lots of how tos to read and learn from.

Welcome to the Mine camp! And we won't hold the WRX against you!

Check this out at Advanced Navigation

Looks suspiciously close to the OEM unit you get from Mini at a substaintial savings.

I have the Mini unit (came on the *orphaned* 04 Mini I bought) and it is indespensible. Easy to use and works just great. I don't have the new steering wheel buttons, but wouldn't miss not using the even if I had them.
