What color is the interior plastic, really? It comes off as black in the factory pictures and a slate blue in realy world pictures.

Is this some odd color shifting in folks' digital cameras? Or is it actually blue?

It doesn't appear that accessories are in two different colors (say, the euro parcel shelf), so I'm quite confused.

Hitting the SF Auto Show next week to see it myself, but those will be flourescent lighting, so that doesn't (completely) count.

Uhhh... Choices? you have Alloy Patina(brushed aluminum look), anthracite, body color, black "seven" design, and "Park Lane" design. look them up on MINIUSA build-a-car.

 

MINI's "Panther Black" color is a charcoal gray. It does not look like slate blue.

Why not go to any MINI dealer to look and sit in the car? You'll see it better than under show conditions. When you go to the SF Auto Show, you can stop at MINI of SF, which is only a half mile down Howard Street from Moscone Center.

To see what I mean by "slate blue" compare the open door picture with the full front seat under natural sunlight.

I'll blame the blueness on camera flash. All of the DIY interior mods I've read have the lower dash plastic bits looking blueish. But under good old sunlight, I see that there's little blue at all.

As for the test drive, I'll be driving a coworker's MCS on Monday at lunch. Then the next week a trip to MINI of Mtn. View w/ the wife so we can both give an MCS w/ the sport package a whirl.
