I Have A 2003 Fully-equipped, Non-s Mini With 20,000 Miles And 16 Inch Wheels Plus Dunlop 195/55 R16 Sp Sport 3000 Run-flat Tires. This Is Oem For The 16 Inch Option That Year. I Got The Car Via Ebay As You Must Wait Nearly A Year To Get An S Model. I'm Pretty Clear On The Engine, Brake And Other Mechanical Performance Improvements And Have Ordered Parts. The Dunlops Handle Beautifully But Are Rough As A Cob. There Are Lots Of Good Non-run-flat Tires Out There - Tire Rack Et Al Recommendations, And Especially This Web Site, But I Am In A Quandary About Wheels; If You Want To Reduce The Unsprung Weight, The Premium Per Corner Could Be Very High. The Tires - Presumbably The Dunlops Are Very Heavy - Will Be Changed Anyway.

1. Does Anyone Know The Weight Of The Oem Wheels? I Heard 21 Pounds, Which Isn't Bad.

2. What Is The Best Tire For Us? We Live Next To The Ocean In Hermosa Beach, Ca, And Own A Mountain Cabin 5000 Feet Up On Mt. San Jacinto. We Drive North, East And South On Freeways But Only 150 Miles Or So.

Best Regards To All - Michael

I think you have to post the type of wheel. There are a few different type of 16 inch rims. I don't know the weight, but I've seen posts with them on it before.
