Rear tire grounding?

Greetings all.I'm from Penang,Malaysia & I drive an 04 Cooper "S". I replaced the original S Rim(17X7)/Dunlops SP9000 run-flats with a set of forged Volk SE37(17X7.5, 4 Hole, 100 PCD, 40+ Off-set) with Conti Sport 2 tires. The light weight SE37s made a vast improvement to the ride & handling of my car but...

I noticed however that on high speed bumps my rear tires were grounding on the small piece of flap(held on by 2 clips) where the wheel arch & bumper joint meets. My local Mini shop guy informed me the SE37's 40+ off-set was the cause of it. My "S" came with the Sports Plus Sus which is nice for city driving but not so nice when the roads start winding or on high speed runs. I have fitted Hartge lowering springs(30 mm) & removed the small flap which helped but did not completely eliminate the grounding problem. Btw, I have an amp & subwoofer installed in the boot. I believe this also puts additional load to the rear sus which could also contribute to the grounding prob?

I understand the KW V2s can be dialled in on the ride height & has adjustable rebound/compression damping. I intend to fit KW V2s later on but have been adviced by my local Mini shop that will only aggravate my gounding problem.

Would appreciate your advice folks. Thanks.
Regards.
Anak M'sia.
