Brand new Mini...haven't even seen it yet.

Hi all,
I ordered a 2005 MCS back in January. Jet Black, sport/premium packages, heated seats, H/K stereo, and a list of other toys. Well, my wife picked it up a week ago and the only problem is.........I CAN'T EVEN TOUCH THE THING!!! I'm in the Army currently on my second tour to Iraq. My wife is in Germany (where I'm originally stationed) having a blast in her new car and I'm sitting in the desert heat breathing in sand. Does that seem fair to anyone?

Thanks for your service, and here's hoping to a quick and safe return to your wife and Mini. I'm hoping she has at least sent you some pics

Yeah, I know what you mean. Back in '76 the Eagles came to Munich and my wife went to see them while I was on REFORGER. Stinks. Tell your bud's theres alot of people over here thinking of and praying for you guys. Keep your heads down and your spirits up. Can't thank you enough for what your doing.

Well, today I found out that I'll be taking my "R&R Leave" in about 6 weeks. I can't wait...it's only for 2 weeks, but I get to see my wife for the first time in 7 months. AND I GET MY FIRST LOOK AND DRIVE OF MY MINI!!!! Time is going soooo slow.

Good advice, hopefully I'll remember it. I already know that she's gonna be up set at the 2 days or so that I'm gonna need to install all the new toys I've already ordered for it.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Here's a pic of what I have to drive until I can get home to the Mini...and one that shows our armor actually works! A little loud and shakes you up a little bit, but you walk away. That's all that matters.

Yes, I too noticed the word wife is small and the word MINI is capitalized!!!

And yes, kiss the wife without looking over here shoulder to see if you can see your MINI in the parking lot.

As others have said be safe and THANK YOU and all the others with you.

Earl

Hey! Take care of yourself! My husband was on his second Afghanistan tour this past January when I took delivery. He didn't even know we were in the market just yet...but he was pleasently surprised when I picked him up in April! Hang in there and be safe!

Update!!!!!

Well all, I finally went on leave back to Germany and FINALLY got to drive my Mini. So fun...so so fun. I got a few minor complaints, but nothing that's worth writing about. Took it out on the Autobahn and had a nice little 125-130 mph cruise. I took a few pics and I'll post them to my gallery as soon as I get a chance. I want to thank all of you for your well-wishes.
