New Here in Denver
Hello Everyone
This is my first post. I just moved from Scottsdale AZ to Denver Colorado. How do I go about meeting other Mini owners in the Denver area? I joined the Mini5280 club yesterday. I've tried sending emails to the president and membership person but never received any repsonses. Is there a club in Denver? My wife and I are looking forward to meeting other Mini owners.

Welcome to Denver! (I live in Boulder).

Enjoy the altitude! You might get more oomph from your gasoline!
"There have been a number of technical studies over many years showing that for most gasoline engines, the octane required for proper operation (no knocking or pinging) decreases about one octane number for each increase of about one thousand feet in elevation. The exact decrease is very specific to each individual engine, but the average of about one octane is a close approximation for most gasoline engines. Most vehicles fall in the range of 0.8 to 1.2 octane per 1000 feet. Thus, a vehicle that needs 87 octane at sea level will most likely only need 82 octane in Denver (5,250 feet)"

Still not sure if this applies to modern engines with ECU, etc.
Not quite so much "bang for the buck" in Calgary (3000')

Funtastic,
Welcome to NAM and Colorado! We're in Colorado Springs here - your timing is perfect - they're firing up two new branches of 5280 in CO - one in the Springs and one for Northern CO. Seems like you may be in Castle Rock from your info - keep an eye out for my wife on I-25, she's on the road between COS and Denver just about every day in a Dark Silver/Black MCS, she's the one driving too fast with a big grin on her face.
No, wait, that's ALL of us MINI drivers!
Please be patient with the MINI5280 folks - they may take a few days to get back to you, but I've always had good luck with them getting info out, etc. And the Poker Run they put on last month was fantastic. . .they'll do ya good, I promise!
If you want to hook up with other MINI owners, try and keep June 5th open - there's going to be some kind of event with the COS chapter (I think, Gripper, correct me if I'm wrong) - maybe a picnic or something, informal motoring, etc.
Anyhow, back to work - and Welcome!!
