I am getting a Mini this summer. Anything I should look for/avoid etc. Who's the "motorhead" in this forum? BTW, great to be here. Look forward to learning the people and the car.

Welcome!

First thing: Get used to the idea that there are THOUSANDS of options. MINI claims there are over a million possible combinations, and I'm inclined to believe it. I mean, what other car gives you five choices just for the mirror caps?! (Chrome, white, black, Union Jack, checkered flag.)

We went on a run with our local club (Gold Country MINI) on Sunday. Fifteen cars showed up. I said to my wife afterwards, "You know, I had the cutest one." She said, "And I'll bet there were fourteen other people who felt the same way about their cars!"

I'll bet she's right!

Welcome to NAM, yowsah30! First of all, share your specs with us. As for head motorhead ... LOL ... there's a wide range of great experience and automotive talent here on NAM. Post your questions, sit back, and read the answers!

Let me know if I can help you with anything here on the site!

There are about 1000 "motorheads" on this site. And each and every one has the "Best MINI of the group"

Welcome aboard Since your in MN be sure and get the heated seats, and get the mulit-funciton steering wheel, and in my opinion don't bother with the sun roof.

i disagree about the sunroof. i love my sunroof, one of the best parts of the car IMO. now if you wanted your car as light as possible then of course the sunroof would be a no-no. but if your anywhere that has a remotely nice summer, the sunroof is worth it. honestly, i don't use the AC during summer months because i have the sunroof open 90% of the time. as for the heated seats, they are a must have

There be a 1000 motorheads who think they have the best, but I for a fact know mine is the best.

Welcome and you will find more information here than you think you can deal with right now. Read the forums where you might wish to mod your MINI, ask some questions and then sit back because you're going to get an information overload.

Wow! Looks like all is good. Guess I just have to pick the color and the rims. BTW....I definitely will be getting the sunroof. It is beautiful in Minnesota in the summer. As for the ski rack. Well, lets just say, a bike rack may be a little more practical. Great stuff guys. Thanks for making me feel welcome.

Six choices... don't forget body color

btw, mine is definately the cutest one..

...and my sunroof is my favorite part of the car.. especially because the A/C is so power-robbing on the Cooper.

welcome, to one of the best sites for information around, I also live in Mini-sotah, I love my heated seats in the winter and my sunroof in the summer, as for what you should get on your MINI, it's all up to you, that's what makes this car so great, there is a yahoo group for MINI owners in Minnesota, check it out, they are going to be having a New London to New Brighton rally some time this spring, and they also have a get together with other car nut at the Square Peg restaurant just about every Sat. morning,

see you on the road,

Happy Motoring
