New guy introduction

Good morning everyone!!

I never know what to say on these things.....Chris, 48, married with 3 awesome sons trying to live the dream in Napa,CA. I just bought a 2012 Countryman S yesterday (with brand new engine) and I have had my 2002 Cooper S for 4 years. My 2002 has several mods and is an absolute blast to drive, but with almost 200k on the original engine, she's seen better days so it's time for something newer to play with. Hopefully the R60 brings me as much joy as my R53 has but it will take some getting used to. The Countryman feels SOOOO much bigger....

I used to drive 2012 R60S ten years ago. Was very sad to let it go since I couldn't move it across the border (it was leased).
I loved lots of interior volume and AWD capability packed in a MINI. It didn't skip a bit hauling 4 adults with gear and food for a multi-day backpacking trips, furniture pickups, hockey gear for me and my son and I didn't think twice before getting out there on a snowy Canadian roads.
Yes it's larger than R56S that I drive now, but still smaller than majority of crossovers out there. And you can't beat the style!
Congrats on the purchase! I am sure you are going to enjoy every mile driven in your Countryman.

Welcome to the group! Your enthusiasm for MINIs is contagious. Congrats on the new Countryman S—it sounds like a thrilling addition to your collection. Transitioning from the R53 to the R60 might be a shift, but change often brings new adventures.
