Sold After One Short Test Drive....Well Kinda
Hey All,
This is Rick here in my debut message out into this web arena.
All it took was one test drive in a mini cooper S convertible and I was WOWWW'ed into the dealership and put one on order here in Germany.
I actually told the dealer that I would have the car back in 30 minutes but I could not stop driving through hair pin turns, onto the autobahn, through tiny cobblestone streets, back to the autobahn and so forth....so an hour and a half later....OOOOOPS.....
Well I ordered it right then and there....the salesperson was...emmmm really attractive....not to mention professional and very knowledgeble....and I got 3.37% financing arranged...how could I say "no" to that??
As an auto europhile I have had a 7 series BMW, various water and air cooled vee dubs....but sorry....this little car is much more fun fun fun!!!!
Bad news is I have to be patient until May to take delivery....
So with a heavy heart and teary twinkal in me eye I toast all yu lads and lasses currently tearin up dee high roads (and low roads) inyer mini's.....
Hope to see you soon.........
Unfortunately in your mini's rear view mirror of course.....
.......
Only until May at least......just give me a little horn blast an a thumbs up til then!!!!!
Cheers!
Rick

Welcome to NAM, Poptop!!!
I went to the dealership, speced out my MINI, gave the the $1000.00, and ordered it before I ever drove one!!!!!
That was last July and took posession in August.
I haven't regretted it one bit!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations on your coming MINI and welcome!
When I ordered my MC I found myself looking at a 2-month wait. After ordering the MINI I stopped by the mall and found a MINI model--the pull-back kind-- to put on my desk. Not the real thing, but it helped make the wait go back a little faster! That first car has been joined by a whole flotilla of matchbox-sized minis. I'm starting to get funny (snide?) comments from co-workers though, so I think it's time to leave future additions to my collection at home.

Thanks You All
Wow,
What a freindly group you all are and thanks for the support until delivery. I live near Wurzburg Germany (Elmer) and ordered a chili red MCS convert. I know that red in a convertible is a bit of a cliche...but I have never owned a red car (10851CS) and it does seem to fit this little machine pretty well. Hopefully will not get more speeding tickets....but what the heck!
Glad to hear about the nontestdrive purchase (OldHippie) and you subsequent happiness ever after with your Mini.
I was driving down south through Munchen and drooled while driving by the BMW/Mini dealer that had twenty or so Minis in their stables.
Again thanks for being here and for all the awesome information that is posted regarding specs, mods, troubles (not many), and smiley motoring.
Take Care!
