Hi from Texas
Hi, I am fairly new to Mini's, but am in love! I inherited mine from a family member when they moved, and it is the favorite car. Upon experiencing dealership prices, I am trying to become my own mechanic. I have reading on North American Motoring for a few months now just as an observer of threads to answer questions I had during a few previous fixes, and am happy to be on the forum! This site has already helped me out of a few pinches, and I know will help me out of a few more in the future! So far I have replaced my strut cartridges, the navigation system controller, spark plugs, and other smaller bits and bobs. Hoping to learn more!

Welcome!
What year/model do you have? I'm doing my own work too, which can be a bit frustrating, but I also like collecting new tools!
I've found Youtube videos to be very helpful, albeit find the better ones. I justwasted invested much of my weekend following a Brit with the channel called "Not Economically Viable" pull the engine, service lots of bits and replace the clutch on a 1st generation (R53). And he says he's never done this before!
cheers

Hi, thank you!
I have an r60 2013 countryman S. I also love collecting new tools, but I definetly share the frustration, especially when I find out i've ordered the wrong part, already had a certain tool, or etc. Youtube has (mostly) been the holy grail, and this forum for figuring out what the problem is and what will fix said problem.
It is quite a feeling though when you figure it out, (even with a subpar video) know you've saved yourself tons of money, and learned something in the process!
I hope your clutch replacement goes well!
