Greetings from Ann Arbor!

Hi folks!

I just picked up a ‘11 Clubman S for my 16 year old daughter, and while the car appears to be in great shape, some little things are popping up already, and I’m hoping this owners’ forum will be of help to me keeping this 97k mile Mini running and in good order!

I’ve had a ton of cars over the years, have a moderate level of mechanical ability, and have participated in many car forums, so I’m hoping I can also contribute some helpful content to the forum as well. This is my first Mini, so I’m eager to get involved!

Living in Ann Arbor, MI, I’m fortunate to have Mini specialists Detroit Tuned not far away, and I saw that they have participated here in discussions as well, so I’m thinking that although this car was kind of an impulse buy, i.e. bought without a PPI— it looked so hot in the JCW trim, and you know how fast used inventory is flipping these days— if it does come down to a worst case scenario, it’s not too hard to call in the big guns at DT!

I guess that’s about it for now, so I’ll drop a quick pic here and get on to starting my first trouble thread! 😬

She really is a beaut my friend. You are right about the JCW trim kit, it makes these cars look hot. I just recently scored some JCW side skirts for my 2013 R56.

The N18 should be a little more reliable than the N14 but your up north and its a mini so expect to get ur hands dirty.

Welcome, nice R55 , rare to see it in the JCW Aero kit.

Thanks!

Do you mean being “up north” in the sense of the regular wear-and-tear issues associated with winter, e.g. bad roads, rust, and grime, or are there issues specific to the Mini you’re thinking of, like the power steering quitting when one’s kids practices parallel parking?! 😬

Thanks for the compliment and welcome! It introduced me to your company, and I’m putting together an order for some bits n’ bobs on your site now!

Yes i meant being up north as in regular wear and tear issues are amplified from the weather.
