Hello!

I'm new to this group, and wanted to say 'Hello". I just purchased a 2021 4-Door S Iconic trim with 4,800 miles; it still smells new. This is my 2nd Mini; my first was a 2002 R50 I bought in 2007 with 41,000 miles, and I drove it until 2016. I spent considerable $$ keeping the R50 going, and hope this one is better; the remaining 38 months/45,000 mile factory warranty will keep it good for a while. The on-board computer tour was a learning curve, and after a week, I feel much better about it. The paddle-shifters are surprisingly effective, and this thing moves much better than I had anticipated. My car since 2016(still drive it) is a 2004 Volvo V70R, so I'm used to quick acceleration and good handling.
I've researched the designation for this 2021 and looks like R58; the 2002 was R50; corrections are welcomed.

Congratulations! That 7 speed DCT is very good at putting the power to the transmission. 189 HP never felt so lively in a car of that size to my internal accelerometer! Welcome.

I had found a JCW 2-Door 6-speed stick with only 2500 miles on it, but someone bought it as I was trying to. I was concerned that 189HP wasn't going to be quite enough; I drove it and quickly realized this thing really moves when asked. The info-system took getting used to for an old fart(76), but after a few hours of button-pushing/twisting, I'm much more comfortable now.
