And what a trip it was. From Southern California to Baltimore. A fantastic drive cross the Union. Took about six days, with a stop in OKC to see a friend and his family and a stop at Labrot & Graham Distillery (a big fan of Woodford Reserve bourbon).
I must say, having satellite radio made the trip more than bearable. For you Waffle House fans, I counted 18 on the way.
The most memorable stop was in West Virginia at the drive-thru window of McDonald's. The entire crew of six were squeezed in the window checking out the MCS. What a great visit that was-- and the questions about the car. They are all fans of the speed channel and were mesmorized by my ride... okay, to me, it's a fun car, but just that... a car. I have to admit, the attention was nice after four days a almost no human interaction.
For anyone considering circumventing the continent in their Mini, go for it. The car handled beatifully through all the rain, fog, tiny bit of snow, and the Smokey Mountain highways were a blast to ride on, and no speeding tickets! Did get flashed once in Texas, but he kept going. I guess he too is a fan of Mr. Cooper's creation.
Just thought I would share...
