Back In a Mini

Hi All! Finally purchased a new daily recently. 3rd Mini for us having had a 13 GP and a 12 S previously. This is a 16 S manual, optioned nicely. It was a good find at a Carmax in Florida, one owner, manual, super clean and well cared for. Excited to have it and look forward to some mods, autocross, mountain runs, maybe a track day here and there. I want to black out all the chrome and swap out wheels/tires for something different.

The Carmax experience was surprisingly smooth and easy and the pricing was really fair in this market. I guess no one wants a manual car anymore ha!

Welcome to the forum. Congratulations on your find. Thanks for posting the picture. My bet is that manuals will hold their value better than automatics. More people want manuals as second vehicles (which are more often used) than daily drivers.

I would agree about the manuals. I wouldn't own this car as an auto personally. It's really in great shape, clearly somebody loved it. I never look at Carmax and when I do the cars are beat and dirty, etc. But this one popped up on my facebook timeline like destiny! It was a 2 hour trip to go see it, and it didn't disappoint. And the Carmax experience was super easy, we were in and out of there in 2 hours from the moment we arrived to when we left with the car, long test drive included. It was a single person point of contact transaction too which was nice. The car did have a dead battery a couple days after we got it, but they paid for it without hesitation. All good now!
