New to MINI

I just bought a 2011 MINI Cooper S with 85k from my neighbor. He had the clutch and front brakes done a few months ago and then the battery died. So he had an alternator put in and now then had no windows etc. Totally disgusted he was going to donate it. I got it for $500. From what I read the Footwell module probably went when they connected the battery. I also read that they extended the warranty has been extended to 156k (?) Picking it up in an hour, can't wait.

Congrats that may work out for you.

Yes the Footwell modules have an extended warranty so you have to call your dealer with the vin and see.
But they may have also just lost their initialization and you need to reinitialize them.

Thanks, I will check that out. Not sure how to do it but hope I can find it on the site. Disconnect the battery for a while?

This gives you an idea of options. Not recommending this particular service, just trying to contribute to your learning. Welcome to the wonderful world of MINI. And best of luck. At $500 bucks, you are off to a great start!

Hi and welcome to NAM!
Most likely someone tried to jump start in and hooked up the jumper wires backwards, Which took out the alternator and the other electrical issues.
Congrats on you acquisition! And what a price!
Ok Steve, now where are the pics?

Welcome.
Thats possible with the backwards hook up, check the main fuses. Did you find out what the problem was?
