Hello all.
New first time mini owner from Orlando Florida area.
Purchased a 2010 Clubman S auto yesterday. Has heated seats, dealer installed 17" rims, sunroof and roof rack, Been searching for a few weeks for the right one. Did a lot of internet research and like to think I went into this purchase fairly informed. Fairly!
Clean carfax, great detailed service records. Has already had a list of the "big" stuff done previously: water pump, thermostat, fuel pump, tune ups, oil changes, tranny flush at 80k, and misc smaller stuff.
Super clean car all around, and the interior is as new. Absolutely zero noise from the timing chain, however I did order a tensioner plug just in case.
Bought it as a toy and commuter vehicle for me. I have already ordered a full brake kit, a BMW code reader, misc rubber molding bits, antenna, fasteners, and such. Plan to change oil too, even tho I have a record of only a couple thousand miles ago.
Luckily, I am a fairly competent mechanic and do have a lift to tinker with. Already repaired the lower rad support where the PO did a small amount of plastic damge backing from a curb. Looking forward to some small tinkering on her.
Thought I would just stop by and say hello.

Thanks!
She cleans up nice. Tackling some small gremlins and such. Bunch of preventive mx too. She is coming along.
Replaced rotors, painted rims, replaced many lamps, oil change, new wipers, timing chain tensioner, filters, antenna, windshield cowls, and floor mats. Buffed out head lights. Degreased and detailed engine compartment.
Have all these parts waiting to install next week when I have time: Walnut blast tools/gaskets, valve cover/pcv, rear pcv hose, DV, vacuum pump, catch can, and a new (to me!) shifter assy due to the interlock issue. Also got a nice Foxwell Mini specific obd reader which really comes in handy!

Today was the day.
Spent about 6 hours working on her, and about 2.5 trying to figure out why my media blaster wasnt working and running for parts!
1- replaced shifter assy with a boneyard unit with 40k miles.
2- replaced DV.
3- replaced vacuum pump. Figured its at 100k, so a smart decision.
4- replaced valve cover and rear pcv line.
5- walnut blasted intake valves. Mine have never been done and were crazy dirty!
started and let idle for 10 mins...all good. Test drive for 5 miles. Perfect! She sure is spunky now! It would throw codes why getting on her before, and also felt very lethargic. Whole new beast now!
Tomorrow I am going to touch up a couple paint chips, program my phone book, wax my headlights (polished them already), and seafoam the intake to help clean up the films that in all inside the intake.
So glad I have a lift. Dont even want to know what a mini dealer would have charged!
