I've had my 2011 Mini Cooper S for almost 2 years now, and I love it. It had been about 15 years since I owned a car with a stick, and knew this would be a fun car to drive. I haven't been disappointed!! It's pretty straight stock. My mechanic uses Akebono break pads. I added a tow hook license plate mount for the front plate (what monster drilled holes in my bumper?? Gotta fix those).
I've recently started going to some track events. I did a BMW CCA HPDE at Lime Rock with an instructor and just this week tried a Track Night In America event at Palmer. Wow, I had no idea just HOW much fun this car could really be. It's got me thinking about modding. Can't go too crazy, but need to think bang for the buck.
It's my daily ride and my rocket ship!! I love the carbon fiber scoop and door handles. Always thought I'd have to have stripes on the hood, but not with that scoop!! A previous owner must have painted the calipers. I don't think that's standard or an option even. Need to clean them...
Welcome from a fellow Bay Stater! Palmer is a fun track! Looking forward to seeing you at a Track Night one of these days...did Lime Rock a few weeks ago....
