Hi everyone, just a quick something about me.
im from Australia and a working part time mechanic and auto electrician, I have a 2009 JCW, I have since rebuilt the engine with forged products and ARP bits, full head upgrade thanks to Supertec and schrick. Os Giken clutch kit, FMIC and oil cooler kit. Okada plasma coils and the list goes on.
hope to talk to everyone soon, now I'm chasing a new turbo because the old Borgewarner just died

Hi and welcome to the NAM family.
We are happy to have you here and it sounds like you are doing some nice upgrades.
To make this a better thread, we need to see some pics of your Mini, so post them up, when you can!

I'm from a little county called Maitland in NSW, I'm actually headed to the USA on the 21st for three weeks to see my parents in law and christen my baby boy, my wife is from NC
where should i post post pics of my car exactly
Welcome to NAM. That piston had seen better days.
From your engine picture one word of advice from when I had my Clubman S is turbo heat shields. There is allot of heat and it tends to buckle the fake hood scoop and can dis-color the paint from underneath if the hood gets too hot. They also did a heat shield mod I can't describe to help shield the turbo oil line on the vintage. I am sure someone has a picture of it.

thanks buddy yeah yeah I had heard a lot about the turbo blankets to stop that, I grabbed one already but the bloody this was too big, well now I'll be getting a bigger turbo I can actually use it lol
Has anyone had any feedback on the GTX2867R on the r56, I think this is my weapon of choice, may need some guidance plumbing it in if that's the way I go. I'm also interested in a meth kit too, if anyone has info regarding, just a quick sniper that would be tops too 👍

Wow! The poor piston was cooked to the bone! It makes me feel good, that you are taking the time to make your Mini viable again! I have sadly seen several Minis in wrecking yards and on the internet, being sold off as parts, when they only needed a little love to bring them back!
Keep up the good work and post often!

Welcome, that piston damage made me a little sick. Good luck with the rebuild.

A Story of dedication for all mini owners
i suggested I would post often and as frequent as I could, please share this with our mini family to inspire more mini lovers.
twas 4:10am and a mini lover was sleeping in his bed, his son of 10 who is just as much a mini lover named Cooper was also fast a sleep. The engine started and started driving off down the street.
so Aaron jumped into the black SUV Ford Everest (aka tank) and continued to chase, through one suburb streets all over he was dedicated to not loosing his pride and joy, only thinking of how devastated his son would be. Still chasing attempting to ram the mother f&@ker off th road to another suburb when a number of swift manoeuvres keep him on tail.
a further ten minutes of chasing the Mini through suburban streets while the Mini was laying to waste the NT01 nittos to waste. To a third suburban area up and over a freeway this mini wasn't getting far.
until after 20 minutes of chasing and being on the phone to the police did the Mini finally grow its wings and take off. (Pretty sure the bastard turned the lights off and hid). Aaron continued to patrol for another 30 minutes with the additional cavalry and his good old Sgt at the local police station. (By the way I'm actually a NSW Police Officer).
to his dispair he thought it was over and the tails would be the last thing he would see. A short prayer to please ask the Mini to be found not burnt out and returned home to give the bad news to Coops. Coops was destroyed and insisted we kept looking. Quick swap to the Ford Courier and off we went again, bush tracks, highways, freeways local streets and known dumping areas.
Then a phone call, a man complaining about a car parked illegally on his property, swift action was made to ensure its safety and the badness didn't return. Cooper sees the Mini and starts to tear in one eye, Aaron doesn't know weather to laugh or cry.
Finger prints come and get some samples, not long now and I'll know who you are (hurt locker time).
It is now I truely beliveve everything happens for a reason, the Mini was dumped because I parked it with hardly any fuel and the turbo was finished so there was no boost. I think if I had not chased it the way I did it would have been stripped and burnt to the ground.
A 25 minute chase through the streets to get our pride and joy back, just a little dedication and we won't see so many minis in the wrecking yard

We are in Ohio here in the USA. We dont have a store front as we do everything through our site. Those things we dont carry as they are theft relevant and your MINI dealer down there will need your VIN and ID, proof of ownership. For most other things that are LHD and RHD the same we have them on our site.
