RIP '06 MC, welcome 04 MCS
Hi, long-time member, infrequent poster.
On Pearl Harbor Day 2016, a Brit was attacked by an uninsured Yank when his lifted F-250 4x4 was unable to slow from 70 to 20 on I-5 near the Stanwood exit here in NW Washington in a timely manner and his evasive action was not completely successful. The left rear corner of the truck struck the right rear corner on my MINI, tearing it right open.
No one was hurt,
but the wounds to my MINI were deemed fatal according to my insurance company.
The car still drives fine, but it's a little chilly with no RR window - or even with a garbage bag taped in place, but the heater does to a pretty good job, considering.
I was able to find a reasonably priced ($7490) 2004 MCS with under 39K miles to fill the MINI sized hole in my heart.
There are a couple of pics of the damages to the 06 and a quick pic snapped at the dealership where the replacement was found. Just brought the "new" car home last night and by the time I finally got home, it was bed time. I'll upload a few more pics of the new ride in a few days when I have some free daylight time.
I bought the "wreck" back from insurance and plan on gleaning as many goodies from the 06 as I can manage to swap over. Top priorities being the armrest console and heated English Panther Leather seats.

Wow, you got a great deal. Picked up my R53 this year for $6900 here in Portland, OR but it had 79,000 miles. Welcome from your fellow Northwesterners, and give some thoughts on joining us on the trek to the Nevada City Adventure June 24.
