New To MINI
Well, I posted this in the CM sub forum, and then saw this, so I figured I would C&P here!
"Hello! Figured I would do an intro thread since I am new to this site. My name is Ben, bought my first MINI in July. Got a solid deal on an '11 All4, and immediately fixed some of the issues I didn't like about it. Lowered and rear sway were my main focus, but wanted to hear the spool and BOV so I went with an NM intake and Burger.
While I am new to MINI, I'm not new to modifying vehicles, which my signature should represent. The countryman is my DD, I have a Civic Hatch I am building for the track, and Land Cruiser for offroading, towing and nasty pow day travels. I also have 2 civic wagons that just kind of exist anymore lol.
Plans for the Countryman have varied, but I think I have settled on some simple mods for what I think it should actually be: twin scroll disco potato, front mount and hard ic piping, full 3 inch back, new ECU, bull bar with some LED lights and some rally-esque wheels. But this is all back seat to finishing my racecar, which is quite close to being done, just chasing down wiring nonsense.
Any questions, feel free to ask!!"

Drive Hard. Drive Safe. Keep Grinning.
I'll get some pics of the CM posted this evening.
As for the race car, it is a 92 civic hatch that us H2B swapped (H22A from a Prelude mated with an adaptor plate to a B16 civic SI trans). It is gutted with the exception of two front seats, a steering wheel and a custom Neptune RTP gauge set-up. It definitely has been my baby for a few years now, and will hopefully run and drive how I expect it to next year. I plan to road track it and auto x if and when it gets done. It should be pretty fun though, a sub 2000lb car and roughly 210 whp should scoot!

Welcome to NAM, Ben. Twin scroll, nice. Might be a feature plan for one of my other builds in the future. Congratulations on the purchase of your first MINI. Looking forward to the pictures and if you ever need anything for it while you begin your building process please don't hesitate to let me know.

As for autocrossing, here are some good articles that might give you some ideas:

And it looks like the direct image link is not working right....ugh!
I will have to do this from home. Work computers don't seem to like this stuff!

Awesome, thanks! I have been wanting a twin scroll disco potato since I started building my hatch, but all motor on a track will be easier for what I want, so why not have a shop I have worked with before build me exactly what I want for the CM!

Black Bear Pass was unreal. Scariest thing I have ever done in my life. It's meant for Jeeps and FJ40's, so some of the turns I had to make a 7 point to get around because of the large tire size. I had about 6-12 inches of clearance off the cliff side too. It was nuts.
Wow, quite the view. Since I don't do well with heights, and a half foot of clearance to the cliff edge, I probably would have stayed down in a lodge and waited for you to return
Nice trip!
