We're glad to have found this forum. I know we will have questions about our new (to us) 2013 JCW Coupe, 6spAT, 10,600 mi.

I do need your best advice re: softening the ride. Our "Democratic" governor and mayor are too busy servicing Wall St rather than providing decent roads. The run-flats feel like they are running flat.

Best, gary

Welcome to NAM, Gary! Congratulations on the purchase. Loving the color combination. One of the best things you can do to help with your ride comfort is to ditch the run flats. Your ride feel will improve dramatically when doing so. If you have any other questions or ever need anything in the future please don't hesitate to ask.

Welcome to NAM and the world of MINI motoring! I've heard the potholes there will swallow a VW Beetle, so that means MINIs are in trouble, too. Congrats on your ride, she looks really sharp!

Losing the runflats will definitely help, but I know it's hard to do while there's still tread on them. I have an '04 MCS with them and when they are worn out, they are gone. However, with NY roads to deal with, a runflat may not be a bad idea!

Drive Hard. Drive Safe. Keep Grinning.

I think your advice is spot on. The woman I purchased from races. She made the point that I read elsewhere that the higher sidewall that I go to (e.g., in a no run flat), the ride will get softer, but also less responsive. I love how it handles now - but dread the pounding.

Thanks, gary

Congrats, fellow R58 JCW owner here also, first thing is to ditch the runflats and get some hankook V12 205/45/17, I have those on both my MINIs right now.

Night and day difference.
