Hello, have a 2008 Mini Cooper

Need an engine for a 2008 hard top base model Mini Cooper. Mechanic said engine needs rebuilt or replaced, and replacing would be cheaper.

Hello , welcome to the forums. Rebuilt would be cheaper but its dependent on the damage to the engine. If its overheated and has a hole in the block from a rod then a new engine. To give you idea of the MINI factory remans:

Might be better to get one at a local junk yard. But you will have to check it out and make sure its complete with no damage. Look for low miles rear end collisions.
