New MINI enthusiast from Ottawa, Canada

I've just bought a 2011 Cooper Hatchback Classic and can't wait to pick it up tomorrow. I'm not new to cars whatsoever, owning and driving them regularly for 44 years now. But this is my first ownership of a German/English car, only owned Hondas, Toyotas and a Hyundai over the past 24 years. Looking forward to this new experience and this forum where I can hopefully learn a few things along the way. I'll post photos and more once I get the car. I'm still trying to figure out all the different models and generations, special editions and options. I don't even understand what exactly are all the options on my car. The one that seems to be less common than most around here, especially on a base Cooper, is the electronic computer centre stack. More to come . . . .

Welcome to NAM! You can read up on this tech article about the Mini. Should provide some good insight about them. As for the special features, you're in the right place! This forum will be a very great resource for you.

Welcome and congrats on the switch to English/German cars. What you give up in reliability, you gain in fun!

Welcome from a fellow Ottawa MINI owner. Be sure to check out the LXM Ottawa group on Facebook.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/LXMOttawa/

We have a small but steadily growing MINI/Mini community (up to 102 members at time of this posting) that is very active. It's a fun, drama free group with tons of useful info (i.e., what does that button do, where's the best place to get my maintained / repaired MINI when out of warranty, etc.). Please join us!
