Hello from Toronto

I'm new to minis and wanted to give a little intro to the forum.

My gf and I are currently in the market for a new car and have it narrowed down to a Mini. I've never owned a Mini before despite owning several enjoyable cars in the past (90 Miata with a S2K swap, rx8, SrT4 to name a few) and am looking forward to joining the family.

The car will be my DD and occasional track car. Right now we have it narrowed down to a '12 Cooper S, '13 JCW hardtop, and a '15 Cooper S. The decision should be made in May when we both aren't travelling like crazy, but I have had the opportunity to try them out minus the JCW and they are an absolute blast.

My personal vote of the three you mentioned would be a 13 JCW Hardtop. Welcome.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Is there any particular reason why you favour the JCW? I'm not really anti F56 like I know many seem to be not having ever owned a more authentic mini and actually don't really mind the looks. However, I will say that it does just feel like a mini BMW and not necessarily a mini.

The R56 Cooper S i think will be more of just us cheaping out instead of dropping a larger sum of money, but I still thought it was a really fun car to motor around in. Is the JCW really that good? How's the reliability been on 2013's if anyone has one? Price wise I think i'll end up paying the same for the JCW as a low mileage 2015 or 14 so with that in mind still the 13 JCW?

Thanks for the advice everyone it is much appreciated!

I haven't had any issues on mine. Doesn't drink oil like my previous MINI.
