My new Volcanic Orange MINI Cooper S

This MINI Cooper S replaces my Liquid Yellow 2003 MINI Cooper that died on me in downtown Ghent, Belgium on Thanksgiving Day (the transmission exploded). The 2003 was in perfect condition except for the transmission which cost $6000+ (more than the value of the car) to repair, so it was sent to the scrap yard to be crushed.

I ordered this one on 2 Dec and it finally arrived on 2 Apr...

It is a US spec but I live in Germany for now - thus the license plate. I love the checkered mirror caps, but I am not sure how I feel about the driving lights. They were $600 to buy and install, so I hope they grow on me.

Here is a couple iPhone pix of mynew MINI

Congrats on the new MINI, like the euro plates.

Munkee,
The driving lights are great. They help the new Minis look old, and cool.
Was that one of those automatics with the CVT that failed? Very sad end to your first Mini's career.
Congrats on your new F56, it's a beauty.

Congratz on the car! Love the color and the lights....one comment though, is that the brake ducts (to me) seem like an add on and doesn't really look integrated with the rest of the lower fascia. I am not sure what the designers were going for with that look. It is definitely function over form. You would think they would have designed that to be recessed to sit flush with the grill allowing the fogs to have a clean uninterrupted look. My 2 cents means nothing ...still love the beauty of her though she is quite the looker! Again congratz and enjoy.

Unfortunately, yes. It was an automatic with only 120,000 miles on the odometer and in otherwise perfect condition.

This is the last photo of her as she sat in the BMW/MINI dealership's garage in Ghent.
