Glad to be here
I've been meaning to actually add myself to this forum for awhile, I know I've practically spent hours watching you guys and gals put some good information out there. I've had this mini for about six months now, but I'm just now starting to work on it.
2005 Mini Cooper S Cabrio
I was wondering if you guys could help me out with a few things:
-My sunroof part works but my convertible won't let down anymore (2nd time). should I give up on it? (costs about 1200 bucks to fix, again, and i'm not trying to spend it twice you know?)
-I'm also planning on buying a few things, starting with sway bars, cai or drop in filter, coil pack and plugs etc. Any other suggestions for small gains? more or less concerned with handling, just wanna pony up a bit more for the 0-60 game.
Thanks Guys!

Welcome
Unfortunately Convertible repairs can get expensive pretty quick. Make sure you check that all the stuff like the parcel tray and trunk buttons are working as those are the most common things to keep the top from going down.
As for mods start with a pulley package as it's the best bang for the buck, and since the car is 9yrs old an ignition coil and plug wire set is a great idea.
Then for a rear sway bar the Hsport Comp bar is the best bar for that car.

Having the same car I've been through a few of the typical problems. One known problem is that if the window motors don't work, the top won't work. I'm assuming that your windows work, but the hydraulics don't. If that is the case, do a search on this forum as well as others. Between the two you might find the information you are looking for. Unfortunately if you have to pay for every breakdown the repairs are going to probably cost more than the car is worth in too short a period of time. And if you look too hard you may find a thread or two that the owners have tried everything and still had no luck. THOSE are the disheartening ones!
I absolutely love the car when things are working fine, but i've been through a period of things breaking and I'm getting disillusioned. With luck, the breakage is over and the fun will return. If not, a short sale and another car altogether.
Maybe a Camry~
