Would love a manual, but need to get an automatic. What's up with the paddle shifters? How does that work?

Looking at both the Base model and the S. 2007-2008-ish $10K-13K budget.

Trying to figure out the lingo, etc. Generations, best years. Is there a FAQ for this stuff - common overall questions? Which years/models have the worst major problems? Currently doing site searches here - and beyond.

Stay away from 1st generation 2002 - 2006 the automatic trans. are no good.

Thanks for the heads up! So, I should be okay with a 2007 Automatic?

 

From what I've read on here if you decide to go with a '07 stay away from the "S" but my base model '07 6-speed has been a nice ride for me so far. Good luck!
