It depends where you are. Some dealers in some areas will negotiate a bit, but $500 or $1000 off MSRP is about it.

Its a big improvement from when you had to pay a premium, or wait 6 months.

I'm from Houston the salesman I talked to he said maybe he can give me a $400 to $700 off and that's I'm guessing that's fair enough?

That's ok for a 2014 model. You may get around $1000-1500 off MSRP for a 2013 on your dealer's lot.

I bought my mini cooper in Princeton, NJ two months ago and the dealer stated at the beginning of negotiations that their policy is to give a flat 2 1/2% off of MSRP, no matter what I buy or what add ons I desired. I checked in Florida first for a mini, but their policy was you pay sticker price. I said thank you and as I was going to NJ, I bought it there and drove it back to Florida.

I ordered mine in June (or was it July?) at Momentum Mini. They waived the destination charge and gave me $500 better trade in than Mini of Clear Lake (these are in Houston, BTW). $1300 - $1400 better off in my pocket. I also got the tint for cost ($200 instead of $400). Maybe I could've squeezed a little more.

I think if you can wheel and deal by email, you can get the best price and bounce the dealers off each other. I bought a Fat Boy a couple of years ago by email - I was about to go to Oklahoma to buy one ($1500 off MSRP, but $400 for a plane ticket). The day before I was going to buy the ticket, I emailed all the local dealers and told them I was about to go pick one up out of town (didn't tell them where), told them the price...an hour later I had the same deal locally...so no plane ticket!

Go get em down!

I would not buy it unless you could get $2500 off. A demo car, IMO, is a used car but flogged by 100 people before me. Over the last few years, every time I've test driven a mini, part of my test was to drift it through corners. You can get $1000 off one you've ordered, to your specs, with a 4 or 6 week wait time. They're not offering you a special deal. My opinion, anyway.

Yes, you should get at least $1-1.5K of a 2013 new, not a demo; I'd offer at least 2K of a demo. You'd need to be willing to walk away from their low initial offer.

It's a good deal, so if you like the car, buy it and quit worrying whether you can get the absolute best deal possible by waiting a few more weeks or a few months! There's always someone who will swear that they can get (or got) a better deal...

I bought my first convertible S off the lot in late December. They had a $6000 rebate going on at the time. Took delivery Christmas eve.

December is typically when BMW rolls out their incentives to cull out last year's model. If you wait until December and troll dealer inventory online, you can probably do fairly well on price but you will not see the rebates advertised.

That's incredible. I never heard of a $6,000 MINI rebate, which roughly equates to a 20% discount on a '13 Convertible S.
