Passenger seat problem

So I recently had to move a large object in my R53, I got home removed the object went to put the passenger seat back into the regular prosition and it won't lock in a normal position. Its either all the way forward and sliding back and forth. Or its locked laying fully flat, does anyone have an idea... I'm stuck and have a date Thursday night with no useable passenger seat.

Figured it out by guessing, well its pretty simple on case it happens to anyone:

Sit in the seat
Both handles on each side one for manual adjusting and one for letting rear passengers in and out.
Push both handles down
Lean all the way forward with the seat
Then slam it back until you feel it lock
To test, use only the inside handle.

I guess I should have a beer before posting anything and trying it myself.

Ah too bad!

I would have loved to hear the story about how your date went - and how you decided to have them sit (sliding around or laying flat)

I thought that would have been funny too, but I thought having the seat lay flat she would have got it and been turned on by how hot the MINI and I were, as well as forward, and she would have taken her clothes off right away.
