Winter tires
no but very helpful to get you moving....very skinny and tall sidewalls are the best. i have set of steel rims with just plain all seasons, size 175/60/15 on it that are pretty worn they did pretty darn well in this past winter season. once these are run to the ground i plan on getting actual winter tires, but am not sure if i want to stay with the 175 or go smaller like a 165 or a 170
Depends where you live and if you have one of those "have to be at work no matter what" jobs. If you live somewhere it doesn't snow very often and can work from home or take the day off if you get some freak snowstorm than all-seasons will do just fine. However, if you're actually planning on driving in snow the snow tires make a huuuuuge difference.
