New to Mini Coopers What should be Assessed? helejio

Hi everyone! I'm a bit of a Newbie when it comes to Mini's. I recently bought a 2003 yellow Mini Cooper 6 speed MT. I was just wondering what are some of the things i should look out for, related to wear, mechanical failure or just replacements to be safe. My fathers a Homemade Mechanic and i have some experience with very minor things. Such as changing the oil and filter, brakes, and a bit of electrical. But is there anything i should look out for with my Mini Cooper S?
- Thank you for everyone who responds, I appreciate it mates!!

Welcome to NAM, and the world of MINIs. Motoring File has a good buyer's guide for R50's & R53's that outlines some of the common issues. R50/R53 Guide Even though you already bought, it's still worthwhile.

There are some good threads in the First Gen section of the forums too. Be sure to read through for even more info, and a DIY section.

Happy Motoring!
