New to Mini's Novice mini 2006

I just purchased this 2006 Mini and for the most part we love it! It is very fun to drive and surprisingly roomy. We are presently having issues with shifting and cant get over 30 mph. also has check engine light. I am investigating this now.

Sounds like you are in LIMP mode and need to get it to the dealer ASAP.

there may be some major things wrong.

i dont recommend driving it anymore than what takes to get to the dealer or the nearest tow truck.
