New Owner-In-Waiting, southern NJ

I ordered my first MINI on 3/29/13 and am anxiously awaiting a build date! I'm in Salem County, NJ, and the nearest dealer is about an hour away, but I don't think I'll mind.

This is what I ordered:

2013 Cooper S Hardtop
Color
B24 Eclipse Gray Body Color

Packages
ZCW Cold Weather Package
ZP2 Premium Package 2
ZSP Sport Package
2GS 17" Conical Spoke Black

Options
383 Black Roof/Mirrors
473 Center Arm Rest
4AA Anthracite Headliner
4C1 Carbon Black Color Line
5AA Rear Fog Lamp
674 Harman/Kardon Sound System
927 All-Season Tires

Accessories
Z55 Sport Stripes - black
Black Carpet Floor Mats (4)

Now it's just a matter of waiting...

Welcome aboard. Nice MINI you got going on. Post some pics when you get it and remember to wave.

Will do! The MCS is replacing a 2003 Ford Lightning (just a slight change, huh?!); most Lightning owners wave, so I already have plenty of practice.

Welcome to the "Family"!!

Be sure and check in on the "MONJ" Forum here on NAM. There is plenty of things going on in "Joysey" and some right in your back yard.

Attached are two pictures: one of what the MCS should look like after I black out most of the chrome, and one of what it's replacing.

And thanks to everyone for the welcome & the suggestions!

Congrats. Ordered my MCS hatch on the 26th, but no word yet on a build date. Maybe ours will be in the same batch.

@Tex6 Hawkeye: I couldn't decide what color I wanted until I saw an Eclipse Gray on the lot with the sport stripes. I would have bought the one on the lot if it had the other options that I wanted. Same thing happened when I bought my truck, except that I ended up buying the one on the lot.

@kavatski: I check the miniusa owner's lounge a couple times a day, hoping to see that it has been scheduled for production. Oh well, it's giving me plenty of time to decide whether to sell my truck privately, which will be more profitable, or trade it in, which will avoid the hassle of trying to sell it.

Congrats on the order! We have a lot of things in common. I am from NJ, but live in Delaware now. I just bought a mini (a 2006 MCS) and currently have a supercharged 2011 Tundra as well.

I recently sold another vehicle and motorcycle. Between selling those and looking for a used mini I was about ready to blow my brains out. Buying new and trading in definitely makes things easier!

At least if you're getting into the OL it means you have a production number. Haven't got one myself yet, and even if I do the OL won't work for me since I'm outside of the US. So I'm reduced to begging my MA for news. If you post when yours changes status, maybe mine should be the same... logically.

Wishing us a speedy production schedule!

The only concern I had with the black sports stripes was they are hard to see in certain light conditions. I plan on fixing that with medium to dark silver accent stripes on the sides and down the center. I'll have pictures hopefully soon. I should be picking up my MINI next week!

Well, that's encouraging. Keep sending updates and I'll comfort myself by figuring that mine MUST be at least at the same stage as yours since I ordered it three days earlier...

Today my MA emailed me to say that the MINI is "in production." I don't know if she means that it's on the assembly line, or just awaiting production, which I already knew.

Thanks! Considering what the old money pit costs me in gas & tires, maybe I'll come out about even. LOL!
