Yep........my patience tested today.

Well, it happened.......locked the key in the car. Plz don't ask how . After about 3 hrs stranded with Mini assist, they were able to locate a towing co to unlock the car tho was not a scratch free experience but it could always be worse.

Moral to this story............get a second key made!!!!!

No, according to the dealership the previous owner did not turn the key in. They are suppose to be having one made for me tho Mini was not able to verify that today during the process of getting me help. Oh, trust me, I will have at least a second key soon whether it is on my dime or not.

Damn, man. Sounds like a good excuse to keep the little detachable (internal) key somewhere on your person.

Sorry to hear about this. It's something that freaks me out since I have comfort access. Keep waiting to leave my fob in a drink holder and have it not allow me to unlock the doors...

Boy hate to hear that, but glad they were able to get in without any harm. Our old car only came with one key and somehow (knock on wood) we've managed 3 years without loosing it. Same deal, previous owner never turned it in, dealer promised, dealer never delivered, and I was unwilling to shell out $300 for another. It this situation had arose one day I'm sure I'd be singing a different tune!

What part of East TN are you in? My wife and I lived in Johnson City for years. I went graduated from ETSU, and my wife Milligan College.

Well, I am shelling it out as bad as I hate too........later I was leaving for class & locked myself out of the house w/no car key. And I ran out of coffee which is the worst part of the day. However, I made it to the store, class & now home safely in a comfy chair. All is good........

Cool.......my mom is from Kingsport & moved back to the Blountville area (around 1998 I think). I live in Dandridge now but was raised in Newport. My sister graduated from ETSU. Me? I am a CNC (now university) alumni.
