I got my first Mini back in July and since this site always pops up in my search results whenever I've looked for an answer to pretty much anything, I thought I'd join. How's that for a confusing sentence?

After skimming around last night, I've already found possible answers to some of my issues. But I must say, my issues are more personal preference than mechanical. I love my Mini and it's done me well so far.

I got it at 102k, it's now coming up on 106k but only because it brought me to Maryland from NY and back. It's about to move me down to FL, too, so we'll see how many miles I rack up then.

I plan on abusing the search function before I really address anything but just in case anyone can help me find things faster:

1. My third brake light hasn't worked since I got the car. No clue how it passed inspection. What seems to be the life of these lights? Is it possible that, assuming it's the original light and being about 9 years old, it's just a loose wire? I'm pretty sure it's actually just dead but if it could save me $100 then I'll take the loose wire.
2. I've seen it mentioned on here. Gotta go find it again but my glove compartment won't stay closed! Right now, it's closed up with duct tape but that can't last very long. Plus I think it's probably interfering with the airbag.
3. All of you with on board computers, my car didn't come with the disc you need for GPS. I've seen a lot of things saying CD vs DVD, MINI brand vs BMW. I have no clue what I'm looking for at this point. I just want the GPS to work.
4. Rattling sunroofs. I've also seen that on here. I'll be searching for a cure.
5. Whenever I spray to wash the rear window, the blue washer fluid goes everywhere. Drips down the back of the car, if I open the hatch, it flows in, all that fun stuff. Pretty sure something's wrong there but no clue what exactly? This one I don't even know what to search for.

I believe I'm done writing a novel. Hey, it's my first car, I didn't expect it to be like new. Even if I can't do anything about the things mentioned, it's still a pretty awesome car.
