i am a new mini owner of 2013 jcw black color, i dont like the headlights it came with i want black casing and xenon lighting, i went to dealership and they said its better if you buy it off market.

i have no clue where to start and what to look for and who can install them for me since mini dealership wont do it.

Aftermarket? I think they may be saying that they may be less expensive in the aftermarket. The dealer has them as they are an option. Otherwise....Moss Mini, Outmotoring, Mini Mania, etc. Google Mini Parts, Mini Accessories. There is also "do it yourself" help here on NAM as to how to do it. Also any qualifies shop be able to insatll these.

 

Call a different dealer .....
Probably not going to be cheap ....

 

Seems to me that I recall halogen to Xenon/HID refit is not exactly legal. I could be wrong, but...

The retrofit is perfectly legal as long as you're not using one of the stupid kits that put a blinding blue xenon bulb in a halogen housing blinding everyone on the road but kids thinks it's ok because "Man my Honda sure is cool now because I have blue headlights that remind me of an expensive car." Sorry, I just hate those things.

Anyways, if your car has halogen headlights from the factory then the xenon swap is pretty difficult if I remember. My car came with halogens but I ended up building my own housings and having a custom wiring harness made.

If your car did come with xenons but they're the chrome ones then it will be a simple swap, you just have to buy the expensive black headlights first. Check the sites mini_coop posted. You can probably sell your chrome headlights for a decent amount on eBay to recoop some of the money.
